Last minute: Brassens in Africa

This sounds real interesting. One of France’s most distinguished chansonniers was George Brassens, a man that sang gentle songs with an acoustic guitar. It turns out that he had many fans in a very unlikely location: Africa. Cameroon singer Kristo Numpuby is bringing it all back home when he appears this weekend in Pierrefitte near Paris in a show called “Brassens en Afrique”. It’s a bit like discovering a Chinese fan of Woody Guthrie, who then goes on to sing in New York. And when you think about it, why the hell not?
