“Beep” by the Pussycat Dolls: DIY lyrics

OK, OK, it’s trash. But unadulterated trash that doesn’t take itself too seriously can be fun. So where does “Beep” by the Pussycat Dools rate on the scale? The theme is basically the same as “My Humps” by Black-Eyed Peas, in my opinion. A guy-watching-girl song. The difference here is that the guy sounds almost pensive in the line:

Funny, indeed. But the girls let their side down with the line:

‘Cause it don’t mean a thing when you’re only lookin’ at my *BEEP*
Ha, I’m gonna do my thing while you’re playing with yo *BEEP*
Yikes! Whatever happened to girl power? What a sad thing to say in a song! The fun part is inserting your own words for the Beeps. So the listener has to do some work, DIY lyrics. But the girls’ reply really kills it for me. Plus, the production and arrangement sound very pre-fab, lacking the character that is so important in the Black-Eyed Pea’s songs. So overall, I can’t say I’m a big fan.
