Womanizer: The return of Britney Spears

Womanizer: The return of Britney Spears

I must admit: I wasn’t expecting this. Watching Britney Spear’s recent career has been a painful exercise, as a cute child star hit the worst times you could ever wish on her (or her family). But on “Womanizer” she’s back, almost as if nothing had happened. The photos look great, the production is slick, the songs are competitive and the lyrics… well, you can’t have everything at the same time, can you?

Daddy-O,
You got the swagger of a champion
Too bad for you,
You just can’t find the right companion
I guess when you have one too many,
Makes it hard, it could be easy
Who you are, that’s just who you are baby

Lollipop,
Must mistake me, you’re a sucker
To think that I,
Would be a victim not another
Say it, play it how you wanna
But no way, I’m never gonna fall for you, never you baby

Womanizer, woman-womanizer
You’re a womanizer
Oh womanizer,
Oh you’re a womanizer baby
You, you, you are
You, you, you are
Womanizer, womanizer, womanizer (Womanizer)

Well, it’s pop music isn’t it? She’s still singing to 15 year-old wannabe vamps. But that’s OK by me. There’s not much reason to get too deep on the analysis of it. In an interview with Z100 Spears talked about the song: “It’s basically saying, ‘We know what you’re up to.’ It’s about guys cheating on girls … It’s a girl anthem. That’s why I like it.”

  2. I have watched almost every concert of Britney Spears. She is truly a goddess of the pop music industry. I wish that she gets more success `
