Bryan Ferry forgets lyrics

I just read a “report” about Bryan Ferry using a prompter at a show in Chamonix, France recently. Well yes, it is a bit embarrassing. But less embarrassing than standing in front of a microphone with your mouth open, I’d say. Quick to jump onto a tasty rumour, there was speculation that Ferry is losing his memory. At his age, that’s probably very possible. But it’s just as possible that the whole suave crooner routine has bored Ferry for years and that he forgets the lyrics because he so rarely sings them. It’s been 20 years at least since Ferry did anything really noteworthy as far as I’m concerned…
